Issued: 0530hrs Friday 29th March 2024
Duty forecaster: Filotas Paschos

Heavy afternoon showers for some, with a risk of thunder.

It will be a brighter day with a few showers, at first over coastal areas, but as we move through the morning showers will develop inland too. Some of the showers will be on the heavy side with a rumble of thunder especially for Ireland, Wales and northern/central England. A breezy day with maximum temperatures at 9C in north, and 12C in south. Frost developing overnight over Scotland.

Through the evening expect most showers to die away but a few will remain over coastal areas in west, maybe a longer spell of rain over western counties of Ireland. Elsewhere long clear spells with minimum temperatures at 5C in north and 7C in south.
