Morning Call - January 23, 2018
Mild, outbreaks of rain
Better this afternoon

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 22nd January 2018
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

A mild day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, perhaps brighter this afternoon

Good morning,

It's a milder one out there today. A brisk southwest wind is feeding in moisture from the Atlantic. There will be outbreaks of rain and drizzle through this morning, most around northern, western and southern coasts. The rain could be heavy at times in western Scotland.

This afternoon sees little change overall, although there will be tendency for the rain to fade from western coasts. Still some bits in the far north of Scotland and southern coasts of England. Other areas may well become brighter with some sunny spells developing into the late afternoon an evening.

More rain returns to Ireland this evening with the winds reaching gale force, the rain then spreading east through all areas overnight.
