Morning Call - March 08, 2018
Morning rain
Better afternoon

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 8th March 2018
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Morning rain clears east, showers in the west, fairly mild compared to recent days

Good morning,

A brolly may be needed this morning, but it should be safe to keep it in your bag this afternoon. A small area of low pressure is bringing rain to northern and eastern England just now and some of this is heavy. This rain arrea should clear east as the morning wears on, although it may be late morning before it clears northeast England.

Showers are affecting western Wales and western coasts of England as well as western Scotland and these are likely to continue on and off through today. Elsewhere it should be a pleasant day with some sunny spells, although always that risk of catching a shower.

Dry tonight for most of us but some rain in western Scotland with stronger winds extending through western Scotland and into Northern Ireland.
