Brighter Scotland & Northern Ireland

Good morning,

An area of low pressure makes gradual progress eastwards across southern England today. Showery rain, persistent in some areas, focused on western England & Wales in the morning, then tending to transfer eastwards. Some lively, possibly thundery downpours locally.

Much of Scotland and Northern Ireland will stay dry with variable cloud and areas of sunshine. A chance of early rain in southern Scotland, but should clear.

Blustery winds for south-western coasts and the English Channel, but winds mostly light elsewhere.

Today's top temperatures reaching 10 to 12C for many, but pegged back where rain lingers.

Have a great day.
