Very mild
Wet in north-west

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 28th January 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Largely dry for the Midlands, south & east

Good morning,

High pressure is located over France and Biscay today, whilst low pressure is around Iceland and the Norwegian Sea, promoting a strong and very mild south-westerly flow across the British Isles. Local gales in the north-west.

Waving fronts trail across Scotland, bringing persistent rain the West Highlands, turning wetter as the day progresses. A cold front will then sink south-eastwards across Britain by Sunday night and rain will advance south.

Murky and damp in the west and south-west of England and Wales. Peristent rain or drizzle over the hills. Most central, south & eastern regions will stay dry all day, although generally cloudy. Brightest in the east.

Today's top temperatures will widely reach 11 to 13C, and locally in the east it may nudge a degree or so higher. Northern Scotland will be nearer 7C.

Have a great day.
