North to northwesterly breezes maintain a cool feel. Sunny spells and a scattering of showers are likely. Most showers will occur near to north-facing coasts in the morning, focused on northern Scotland and Wales. By the middle of the day and into the afternoon, showers will be mainly inland in the eastern half of England, mostly brief, most common across the the East Midlands and the Home Counties. Dry for southwestern Britain. In Ireland after a sunny morning cloudy intervals, and locally a brief shower. Highs widely 10 to 16C, 9C in the far north.

Tuesday Night
Local light showers in the East Midlands and in Yorkshire, similar in northern Scotland. A few light showers may occur on northern and western coasts of Wales. Mostly dry elsewhere, mostly broken cloud over England and Scotland, longer clear spells in Wales and Ireland. Light northwesterly winds. Lows 3 to 8C, in central Scotland temperatures could be close to freezing.

Wednesday
A ridge of high pressure brings dry conditions to most parts of UK and Ireland. Brief light showers may affect eastern coasts of England and Scotland, possibly also in northern Scotland for a while. Cloudy intervals and bright spells here too. Dry for the Midlands, west and southwest England, Wales, southwest Scotland and much of Ireland, good spells of sunshine and well broken cloud. Fairly light west to northwesterly winds. Highs 13 to 17C, warmest in Ireland.

Thursday
A frontal system over the Atlantic coming from the west brings persistent rain and overcast skies for Ireland and Wales in the morning, heavy in places. Moving gradually to the east, it will bring heavier rain in England and Scotland later on. Southeast England and East Anglia will be dry for most of the day, getting the rain by evening. Breezy in England, gales on south and west coast of Ireland and Wales. Highs at 12 to 19C.
