Morning Call - January 15, 2018
Heavy rain
Brighter skies follow

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 15th January 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Showery in west & north-west

Good morning,

A frontal system will pass southeastwards across the British Isles, bringing rain to central & south-east England for many hours, but it will clear from the west & north this morning.

A chilly and showery westerly airflow then follows behind a cold front. Sunny spells, but showers will affect the west & north-west. These will turn increasingly wintry, with hail, or snow over the hills. Isolated thunder in western Scotland.

Blustery winds for all, with gales for English Channel coasts. Squally gusts around showers in the west & north. Feeling increasingly cold.

Today's top temperatures will be up to 10C for much of England and Wales, but will drop from the north-west toward 5C, then soon close to freezing into the evening with a risk of ice.

Have a great day.
Garry
