Spells of rain

Dangerous seas around south-western coasts

Good morning,

Low pressure is centred primarily toward the north-west of Britain today, whilst a secondary low (Storm Eleanor) develops quickly and runs east across the country into Tuesday evening.

An occluded front advances north-eastwards, bringing a spell of rain to most areas, or hill snow in northern areas. Skies will brighten for a time, although it will stay generally cloudy.

Further fronts move in quickly into the evening, with heavy rain setting in again, and winds will strengthen to gale or severe gale force in the west & south. Gusts of 60-70mph are expected around western coasts, and 50-60mph is possible inland, bringing a risk of local damage. High tides and large waves in the south-west.

Today's top temperatures will be around 5C in the north, but rising toward 10C in the south.

Have a great day.
Garry
