Morning Call - January 03, 2018
Windy, gales
Stormy seas

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 2nd December 2017
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Showery in the west & north-west

Good morning,

A deep area of low pressure (Storm Eleanor) moves quickly eastwards across the North Sea into southern Scandinavia today. Remaining windy throughout the day for England & Wales, with westerlies reaching gale force in exposed spots. Much lighter winds in Scotland.

Frequent showers in the west & north-west, locally merging to constant rain, and possible hail. Brighter skies and some sunshine toward the east & south. Another frontal system moves in from the south-west later ahead of another Atlantic depression.

Very high tides and stormy seas in the west and south of Britain and Ireland, likely to cause coastal flooding and damage to seafronts.

Today's top temperatures will be 5 to 9C.

Have a great day.
Garry
