Cooler next week after a warm holiday weekend

A warm weekend ahead with some very warm conditions. It is likely that we see cooler weather arrive in the middle stages of next week. At the same time lower pressure will be bringing more showery weather ahead of things turning unsettled into the end of the week and the weekend.

Sunday 6/5/18
Higher pressure affecting the whole of the UK and Ireland on Sunday. This is likely to be bringing fair weather to many areas with good spells of warm sunshine. Some low cloud and drizzle may affect the far northwest of Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at 17 to 25C.


Bank Holiday Monday 7/5/18
Pressure remains high on Bank Holiday Monday. This should bring a dry day with good spells of sunshine. Feeling warm too. There may be more cloud in western Ireland and western Scotland with the risk of some drizzle here. Low cloud and some mist and fog patches could affect western and southern coasts of England and Wales as well as southern and eastern Ireland. Highs at 13C in western Scotland, 27C in southeast England.


Tuesday 8/5/18
A ridge of high pressure to the south bringing some sunny spells, although the risk of a few thunderstorms breaking out in the afternoon. A weak front may bring some patchy rain to western Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at a cooler 15C in northern and western areas, 24C in the southeast.
 


Wednesday 9/5/18
Low pressure ot the northwest of Scotland on Wednesday as the ridge of high pressure remains to the southeast. The low brings cloud and rain to western Scotland and western Ireland. Drier in the east and south with some sunny bright or sunny spells. A much cooler day at 11 to 16C.


Thursday 10/5/18
A southwest flow affects the whole of the UK and Ireland on Thursday with a weak ridge in the south. There will be rain and strong winds in Scotland as low pressure passes close by. Rain here too, most in the north and west. Further rain in western Ireland, most of it light. Some patchy rain on western coasts of Wales and England, but generally drier in the east. Highs at 10C in northwest Scotland to m16C in southeast England.

Friday 11/5/18
Friday may see the area of low pressure situated west of Scotland. This brings more unsettled weather to the west of the UK and all of Ireland with rain and showers;. More eastern and southern areas are likely to be drier, although even here there may be some patchy rain. Highs at 10 to 15C.
